Exploring Color and Pattern with Linocut
6 Thursdays
January 12th - February 23rd (No Class on February 9th)
6:30 - 9 pm
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond
Register here.

With linocut, you cut the design you’d like to print into a linoleum block to create a relief surface. We’ll begin by cutting background patterns, which we’ll print in various colors and combinations. Then we’ll cut a strong final image to print overtop the patterns. You’ll learn about design, cutting techniques, printing, and paper selection and finish the class with a completed print.

Try-Your-Hand Workshops: Playful Monotype Printmaking
Saturday, January 21st
1 - 4 pm
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond
Register here.
Of all the different types of printmaking, monotype is the most spontaneous and perfect for beginners. Through processes such as painting or rolling on inks, cutting paper stencils, and arranging plants and found objects, you can create surprising imagery and color combinations. Come to this workshop with an attitude of playfulness and experimentation and see what you can make!

Pop-Up Valentine's Cards
Saturday, January 28th
1-4 pm
Studio Two Three

Make a handmade gift that goes beyond the typical Valentine's greeting card. Using cardstock, collage, glue, and paint, participants will create the most delightful three-dimensional cards to give to friends and loved ones. I will demonstrate two paper constructions that work well for diorama-like scenes: make anything that strikes your fancy!

Printmaking for Everyone
2 DAYS: Saturday, February 4th from 10 am - 4 pm and Sunday, February 5th from 1 - 4 pm
